Hawkes Rock Crystal Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Pitcher
A Silver and Rock Crystal Art Nouveau presentation pitcher attributed to the T.G. Hawkes Company. Mounted with .950 fine silver, purity generally reserved for designs and styles of silver requiring the most skillful chasing such Gorham’s Martelé and Reed & Barton’s “950” line. The silver features deep repoussé work and superb chasing. There is a matte finish with a soft grey appearance; the decoration is of Iris’s and the bust of a Putti just below the rim of the spout. The glass body of the pitcher is gracefully engraved with flowing leaves, vines and blossoms. The pitcher measures 11.25” high and is marked only “950/1000 Sterling 521”
